Join us for the screening of Mamá, Xun Sero’s acclaimed documentary addressing patriarchal violence in families. This special event is part of the Bronx Documentary Center’s 7th Annual Latin American Foto Festival and will feature a discussion facilitated by Caza Fuego.

About the Filmmaker:
Juan Antonio Méndez Rodríguez (Xun Sero), a cinematographer, editor, and documentary filmmaker from the Tzotzil people of Mitontic, Chiapas, debuted Mamá in 2022. Recognized by Variety as one of the “10 Mexican films that contribute to diversity and give voice to that diversity,” the film has earned acclaim at international festivals. Xun Sero is currently working on his second feature, De Aspecto Indígena.
