El Diario by Oliver Zapata

El Diaro follows Sergio Solano, a Mexican delivery worker in New York who co-founded a popular Facebook page in 2020 that documents and addresses the needs of delivery workers in the city. But as the demands and conditions of their job change, so does the importance of the page and the community built around it.

Buddha in the Bronx by Teresa Xie

Buddha in the Bronx is a short documentary that follows a Sri Lankan monk, the prior of a Buddhist temple in the Bronx. Interviews, alongside personal moments, offer a glimpse into how the monk’s spiritual practices inform his experiences in contemporary society.

Retorno by Pamela Y. Rozon

My mother, Isabel Maria Tejera Gutierrez, had been away from her country for over 25 years. The years were marked by a relentless battle for citizenship, one she almost had given up on. Finally, her dream came true and, without a word to her family back in the Dominican Republic, she booked her ticket home. Isabel was overwhelmed with a flood of different emotions; she felt the joy of reuniting with her relatives along with the bittersweet realization that the home she had once longed for was transformed by time.

Casa Amadeo by Ariana Marie Luque

Casa Amadeo, is centered around the life of 91-year old Miguel Amadeo, a composer and musician with a legendary roster. One of the founding fathers of Salsa who has written songs for notable artists such as Hector Lavoe, El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, Celia Cruz, and more. Yet, this film is not focused on his musical legacy, this documentary peels back the layers on who “Miguelito” is: a father, a widower, and a small business owner whose future for the record shop feels uncertain.

Tender Silhouettes by Tasnuva Shehrin

Following the loss of a close friend who was deeply involved in the goth and vampiric community, a filmmaker retraces her footsteps—attending events and reconnecting with those who knew her, to better understand the world she was part of. The film provides an insight to these subcultures through their allure of folklore, esoteric beliefs, and a sense of belonging found in the shadows.
