About Terraza 7:

Terraza 7 is a live music venue and community center located on the border of Jackson Heights and Elmhurst in Queens, at the heart of one of the world's most diverse immigrant populations. This hub for local art and political expression brings together musicians, songwriters, and experimentalists to exchange knowledge and create beautiful music. Through Latin American Jazz and Folk music, workshops, progressive activism, and partnerships, owner and community member Freddy Castiblanco has built an intercultural bridge, fostering creativity and solidarity.

Born in Bogotá, Colombia, Castiblanco was a doctor before moving to the United States. After relocating to Elmhurst, he studied English, volunteered, and prepared for his Board exams but noticed the lack of interaction among diverse groups. In 2002, he founded Terraza 7 to bridge these gaps through local artistic expression. Using jazz's improvisational elements to connect different cultures, he has successfully created a space where diverse cultural memories blend harmoniously. Terraza 7 has become an invaluable community anchor, crucial to the cultural fabric of Queens, while serving as a vibrant epicenter and reference point for Latin American culture in New York City. @terraza_7

@terraza_7
